丁颖（Ding Ying，1888-1964）
农业科学家、教育家，中国现代稻作科学奠基人，农业高等教育先驱。他对中国栽培稻种的起源、演变、分类、分区、栽培技术等进行了创造性研究；在世界上首次将野生稻抗逆种质转育到栽培稻种中，育成的新品种在生产上应用达半个世纪；创立水稻品种多型性理论，为水稻品种选育、提纯复壮奠定了理论基础。
Ding Ying (1888-1964), agricultural scientist and educator. He was the founder of China’s modern rice science. His theory of origin, classification, region of rice in China laid a theoretical foundation for rice breeding.
